One Piece: This Is What The Wano Country Arc Would Look Like If It Had Come Out In The 90s
A FAN REMEMBERS US HOW ONE PIECE’S ANIME LOOKED IN THE LATE 90’S RECREATING THE ARCH OF THE COUNTRY OF WANO WITH SAID STYLE
At present, fans seem to be quite happy with the animated adaptation of the Wano Country Arc from One Piece. The team in charge of this stage of the anime is very talented.
The character design is according to the work of Eiichiro Oda, and the animation quality is very good. But if the current series is compared with its beginnings, it is logical that there are big differences. It began to be broadcast at the end of the 90s of the last century.

Oda’s drawing style, like that of many artists, evolved over time. The same thing happened with the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his nakama.
In light of that, the team in charge of the anime just adjusted to that. As the story progressed, it was decided that there would be a ‘time jump’, where the characters appeared with a few more years. Likewise, the above was reflected in the manga and its animated adaptation.
One Piece To End In 5 Years, Current Wano Arc Integral To Series Finale
Long-running manga One Piece, by Eiichiro Oda, might be nearing the end of its voyage in the near future.
According to Oda’s editor, Naito, he believes the series will end in five years.
Other revelations include the emphasis on the current Wano arc, which is heavily based on Japan’s own history with the samurai, as being integral to the end-of-series storyline. He also hyped up the recent Stampede movie.
While One Piece’s ending timeline has been notoriously fickle, Oda had initially wanted to end the series within five years..
However, Oda had also stated in an interview earlier this year that he planned to end One Piece in five years.
What is a One Piece
While five years might seem like too lengthy a time to announce the end, for a series like One Piece, it kinda makes sense.
The sheer length of the manga has inspired many memes.

Making its debut on Shonen Jump in 1997, One Piece has been a juggernaut from the get go.
Here’s a little indicator of its 22 years of dominance.
If you did read One Piece, but for some reason dropped it over its two decade run, here are some noteworthy plot points of what’s brewing in the current Wano arc.
Spoilers
- Strawhats (with the help of Trafalgar Law and the samurai of Wano) are attempting to take down one of the Yonkou (Four Emperors of the sea) Kaido.
- Unbeknownst to them, Big Mom, another Emperor, is also in Wano, and through some quirk of fate has now teamed up with Kaido.
- The Shichibukai (Seven Warlords) initiative was disbanded.
- The bounties of all four emperors, as well as former Emperor Whitebeard and Pirate King Gol. D. Roger, are revealed in the concurrent Reverie arc.
And these are just some of the mind boggling revelations this year. But considering how most of the information being revealed pays off decades of questions, the series might truly be making its curtain call soon.

The One Piece Wano Country Arc is the most recent in the manga, and it’s still going on. The original drawing style of the series is gone, never to return.
However, a talented fan, BuruBuru, decided to imagine what some characters from this stage would look like drawn ‘old-fashioned’. This is how he recreated not only Luffy, but also Roronoa Zoro and Kozuki Hiyori. It’s like looking back on this story that has fascinated generations.
THE ARCH OF THE COUNTRY OF WANO IN AN ANCIENT STYLE
The designs are not bad at all, but it is difficult that Toei Animation returned to that style for the main series. However, some of it was again handled with the Romance Dawn OVA that came out in 2019.
That was a glimpse into the past, before Eiichiro Oda’s series had its final name. Maybe if Toei thought about reflecting something that happened at the beginning of the anime, and that for some reason was not addressed, he would go back to that drawing style.
The best way to remember it in One Piece is by rewatching the first seasons of the anime. They are currently coming to Netflix, where they can be enjoyed both in their original language and with dubbing in Spanish and other languages.
El Arco de Arabasta is the next to come to this video-on-demand service. That will be in February, so it will only be a few days of waiting to enjoy them again.
